Seriously, I was just thinking. The self-titled album seems to be the peak of the blink guy's career. Mark seems to have been at his best then, and while Tom is certainly on to something with Angels, I believe he too was at his best during this era.
The self-titled album feels classic to me. The layered, grungy guitars, slight electronic stuff, the powerful bass, the drums, the not-so-over-produced vocals, the diversity. It just seems like it was the last extremely popular record that can hold significance in popular music and not come off as some fad like fall out boy. Musically it's not even that complicated, yet there's something timeless and authentic about it. It doesn't even feel like a pop album to me.
Maybe it's just me, but the self-titled album has yet to be out done. Anyone agree?
