i bumbed into this on AVA's myspace. under the comments. i am not buyign it but what is it?
Rumours of a Blink 182 reunion are running wild across the punk-rock music circles of America. This latest twist in the tale to this break up will only add more fuel to the fire after a string of odd behaviour and cryptic messages from the trio.
At a recent Atticus clothing show Tom Delonge and his band Angels and Airwaves took to the stage for a short 3 song set, during the course of the set it was noticeable Delonge was acting distant and distracted from his new band mates. In return his band mates gave the lead singer frosty looks during the entire set, and there was no banter with the crowd at all during the show. This set was only supposed to be a 3 song set according to the show promoter, unexplainably after the 3 song set which was in all honesty was quite shabby, due to Delonge being the main focus of the band and his lazy attitude, Delonge unexplainably re took to the stage alone 5 minutes later.
This time Delonge was in different clothes to the black emo attire he previously wore, this was a different Delonge in a backwards baseball cap, 3 quarter length shorts and white Macbeth top, strikingly similar to the attire he wore during his Blink 182 days. On his return to the stage he no longer had his trademark Tom Delonge Gibson ES-333 in his hand but a plain white Fender, again one strikingly similar to the one he used in his previous Blink days. Nobody was aware of what Delonge was doing, least of all the promoter who was visibly trying to pull Delonge off the stage, however with no luck.
Delonge proceeded to silence the crowd then played a full rendition of the Blink 182 smash hit ‘Stay Together For The Kids’, a song previously sung in unison with former band member Mark Hoppus. However it was Delonge and Delonge alone with his guitar as stunned onlookers stood in disbelief to what was taking place. Delonge sang all his parts and played all his parts in those 3 minutes with more passion and drive than the whole 25 minute 3 song s
I highly doubt this happend.
Would be really interesting though if it was true.

its sad that people make this up to try to believe it. i mean, yeah, blink was a big part of a lot of peoples lives and all.
but its over.
enough said.
When it gets to the part about Tom wearing a backwards hat and dickies shorst and playing a white fender, you just know its bull. Even if Tom went back to blink, he wouldn't just drop his style to fit his enema days.

ummm 1. He can't play his fender in public. he signed a contract with gibson. which makes him only play gibson's in public. i would know something about this, considering i have a contract with Ernie Ball. and 2. Can you seriously picture tom with old blink clothes now? hes fucking 30. just wow that was a load of shit, not just shit even, like shit from everyone in the world piled into one BIG pile of shit. yeaaaaaaaah i'm done.

I really don't think he was playing the Fender, but how do you know he has a contract preventing him from playing anything but a Gibson? He was playing both during the Box Car Racer era. Also, even if he signed a contract, I'm sure it wasn't a lifetime one and it must expire at some point. It has already been around 5 years since he started playing his signature Gibson.

If this was actually true I'd start thinking Tom lost his mind. I did like the description of the band giving Tom "frosty looks". That was funny.

he got a new one when he started ava. and it said so in a interview
And he still uses his Fender in the recording studio for AVA. I think he just uses his Gibson live because it's customized for AVA but if he decided to do that with a fender he would use it live too. I think it all depends on what he prefers at the time and not about legal restraints from contracts.

I'd like to see the interview. Even if this was the case, it has been two years since he started AvA and that (supposed) contract would likely be over as well.

Tom couldn't (and wouldn't) throw away everything he's created in AVA just like that. Sure, Blink is important and will always be in his memory, he's working on a bigger plan now of business, ideas and (one day) movies...
I think he's too invested in AVA to drop everything for blink reunion, even if he wanted to. I'm not saying it wont happen some day, but not a month before a new album - he's not Billy Corgan. [who if you dont know, released his solo album and on the same day took out a double-page ad in the chicago times saying 'i want my old band back'].
I think the only reason Tom would really ever get blink going again would be because he misses Mark. But he really loves what hes doing with AVA and wouldn't risk throwing it away like that. AVAs hear to stay. And blink's history is in his heart with it.

my roomates friend was drunk and told him that he was at this show. im in no way saying its true, cause i dont believe it. wheres the sources? but it would be sweet.
he also said his friends an idiot sometimes...
The story makes me laugh because its so fake. Just picturing it part by part makes me laugh. It never happend and it never would. If Tom wanted to play a blink song he would just do it as his present day self like you would see him at any AVA show and thats it. He wouldn't change into dickies and hurley clothes and play a fender strat while the rest of the band gives dirty looks. He wouldn't try to transform himself from "AVA Tom" into "Enema-blink-Tom" to play a blink song or even to say he misses blink. Its like a sketch comedy or something. Its just plain funny. And its funny that people still wonder if it happend.

i also think it's funny to think of the prospect that either
(a) Tom carries an extra bag with all of those items inside 'just in case' he feels like a blink revival
or
(b) he felt so passionate that he ran to a store, whipped out the copy of 'enema' from his pocket and picks out replicas of his shoes, shirt and hair.
lol the story is so ridiculous.
