View Full Version : Yeah...

Yeah... I've been sailing allot so far this summer and on windless days I've had time to think.
Why are people always so mean? All it does is make people unhappy. If someone is already mad, angry, sad or just down why do they try bringing others down. You would think somewhere along the cycle someone would realize and decide to be mean and it would all stop. Maybe bitterness is just where diversity begins. If we were all happy wouldn't the world be perfect?
What is the point of jellyfish?
In my mind I know there must be a god. I just look at the world, everyone and everything and I know something just didn't randomly go poof and everything was all here. The part of us worshiping him confuses me. I believe he made the world for us to enjoy and not for us live in fear of it and him. (Fear I'm gonna talk about that later too) The fact that Christian's all say they believe in the same god and are so picky about these little differences about how they believe something in biblical times happened shows me that they aren't really glorifying god. I believe the best way to glorify him is by enjoying his creation. And my last point of this topic is that if i had one question i could ask god it would be why he made some people so horrible and heartless that they would kill another human being.
I despise almost all goverment at this point. If there was no goverment there would be no war. If there was no goverment this world would be better off. I also believe that no goverment actually has the people's best interests in mind. I read in the paper daily about how bad people are allowed to continue doing bad things because of broken promises the goverment makes. One example, Exxon was being fined 2.5 billion for some giant oil spill, the money would go to helping restore the poisoned area. This went to the supreme court. The fine was dropped to 500 million. Obviously bribed. How can I support a goverment so greedy? How are those "judges" "supreme"? They are some of the scum on earth that sickens me.
People have become way to materialistic.
I've decided that my goal is to find a place to learn the trade of building.(not ugly plain white boats. pretty boats. finely crafted ones that have a sense of originality, beauty and effort to them.) Move to New Zealand make an honest living and take months maybe even a year at a time to go backpacking through nature. And another one of my goals to sail around the world.
People fear to much. We wear special sunscreen to protect from the sun? the thing that gives us life? We have safety locks on everything. Kids are typically not allowed to go a mile away from their house without an adult. I'll just try to summarize this one up. People don't want to take any risks that they don't have too, it's like they are avoiding life.
I believe natural disasters are nature's way are righting itself. The more we change nature the more natural disasters will occur. In a way human development is a natural disaster.
I could go into allot more detail of all these topics, but if i did nobody read it. I already doubt anyone will read all of this.
I already doubt anyone will read all of this.
I read it. Only took literally 2 minutes. Everyone should be willing to read a long post considering it takes much longer to write them than read them.
Anyways, it good that you are stopping to take a good look at the world around you, and are realizing what you truly want in life. Even if it makes you more aware of the things you dislike the most. Its best to get a general idea now, so you can get started on your life's journey. Things can change drastically after high school, so it good to start being more aware of things now.

Great post Zack. I want to give you a hug, but I can't for obvious reasons, and my Jonas sig probably scares you so you don't want one anyways.
Your thoughts on government kind of remind me of Taoism (http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/Philosophy/Taichi/lao.html). I disagree that we'd be better off without government because like you said, people are mean, people kill, who's going to stop all those people? In my opinion, religion was just the earliest form of government which was made up to control people. "Oh my god if I steal this guy's bread I will go to hell" etc. But now we are more civilized, and if I steal your bread I will get fined or go to jail. In a perfect world, there would be bread for everyone and people wouldn't steal. People are never happy with their current situation anyway, so they would want to have more bread than others.
Sailing the world? Fuck, you have balls. I like how you want to explore nature though, that's one of my goals as well. Sometimes I just take walks and look at things. I'm gonna take one tomorrow at 3pm even if it's +105 degrees outside.
My mother started talking to me in the middle of this post so I forgot half of what I was going to say.

We have no government the world will be run by anarchy. and everyone will most likely go on a man slaughter. religion is man made. people have bad days, they have the right to bitch or moan about anything. like you just have with this post, but you did it in a well manner.
"People don't want to take any risks that they don't have too, it's like they are avoiding life."
No, people are scared that their loved one will have their life taken from them. theres reasons for everything, your looking from one point of view, try to not focus on one opinion, it makes you close minded.

Thanks hobbit. And your jonas sig does scare me. I think i kinda get the taoism views. Tanks for sharing that. And you do have a point. We need government to stop crime and I guess religion was sorta the first government. At least the government should be limited allot more in what they can and cant do

Care to elaborate on your response to Zack's comment? I don't really get what you're trying to say.
And I didn't think Zack's post is close-minded at all. He was just stating his opinion and not saying that he's 100% right. I said my opinion too and he didn't reply with a "YOU'RE WRONG I'M RIGHT" comment.
People are definitely scared to take risks (in my opinion). How many people want doctors? How many parents actually let their kids become actors? Not many.

I guess what i was trying to say was its alright to fear, but people do it to much. It can come back to hurt us and/or people will just miss out. Well i guess it's impossible to be fearless, If we had no fear people would try to fly.

he was describing his view on why some kids can't walk a mile from their house. and i just responded my view on it.
i'm just very neutral on certain subjects. and i think zack is going through self discovery. which happens to us all.
But I'm more aware of the things i dislike the most and It fills me with anger. I just need to try and not let the things anger me.And thanks for reading it Grey!
They will make you angry now, but in the long run it will help to fully define yourself as a person in this world because you will know for a fact what you like and dislike. You won't have to depend on other people's opinions as much. Especially since other people can easily influence you in a negative way if you don't already have a good sense of what your true feelings are on certain issues, such as with drugs for example.

I read the first two sentences.
First of all: SAILING IS FOR FAGGOTS.
Secondly: People are assholes for one of two reasons: A) They're bored / don't care of the consequences, or B) They have some sort of trama in their life that caused them to be an asshole. Ie, dad kicking their ass when they were little, parents ignoring them (This one little bastard at daycare always hits me and when I met his parents and saw them interact with him, I knew that they didn't give him enough attention), or some other violence/mean act happened in their past.
Yeah I'm B, i wuz raepd :(.

What kind of SPF do you have to use? I have to use the sunscreens with like an SPF of 60 or more, and if I dont I will burn horribly.

interesting post. I would say that there is a god and I believe in jesus christ god and my views on heaven are that if you believe on god and accept him in your heart as your savior that you will be accepted into heaven regardless of what you did in life. And my views on life are to do what makes you happy. I dont know what i will do with my life but i know that i most definatly will never work in an office form 9-5. I dont really wanna persue millions i wanna experience life and the world maybe even space. Ever since i was 10 i wanted to go to space and leave the earth. The universe fascinates me. I am fascinated by the fact that it doesnt end and that space is infinite. The fact that we are merely just a spec in the universe fascinates me and how we are so small and worry about the smallest things like the car we drive the clothes we wear the amount of money he have the place we live. I think the biggest problem in the world is materialism people just care way too much about that stuff when its pointless too. and wow this post is so unorganized sorry i just kind of typed what came to mind
I read your post.
I think you're correct on the whole idea of the government thing. My country, Scotland, Is ran by the English Parliment and it's a load of shit.
Anyway.
I think you're a sound guy. You know your goals in life.
Nice one.
I swear if another old topic gets bumped im going to shoot a cat in the mouth.

I really know what you mean. I don't want to go to work in some small office all day everyday. I don't want to fall into a routine like that, i don't want my life to be dull in the future. I also get were you going with the rich thing. Enjoy life go out in the world, don't just do nothing save up and become paranoid about keeping your money or making more.
thanks josh :D now i just need to reach those goals
