I've already mentioned this in like two threads today, but it is frustrating the hell out of me and i feel like it's worthy enough for my own thread. For all of the musicians in this forum, how do you deal with writer's block? Because tonight something hit me and in 20 mins i had an incredibly badass song. The ideas were just flowing and everything was going great. Within minutes i have some really badass guitar riffs, some cool melodies, and good lyrics for a new song. But then out of nowhere it left me, and now i am unable to finish the song at the moment. This has happened to me many times but on most of the songs i have written they were suckish to begin with, so I pretty much stopped. What should I do to get the ideas flowing again?

Just write down all of your good ideas so you don't forget them. To get the ideas flowing again, I think you should smoke some marijuana. It has helped out a lot of musicians. lol jk. Dont do that. But you should just keep trying and eventually you'll get it right.

That happens to me all the time. The first verse just comes to me, and the second one is shit. It happened to me yesterday, but instead of writing a second shit verse, I'm just going to wait until the inspiration comes back.
Just give it time, and it will come back. As far as the actual music goes, it always takes more than a day. I only have one perfect song and it took four months to write. I will never record it though because it's not my style.

the music and writing guitar riffs are what i'm best at. I'm pretty much just waiting for an offer to be a lead guitarist in a band. I'm getting better at lyrics and my singing is improving daily from constant practice. I want to be able to sing in a band too, rather than just play guitar.
Writing music really wears you out. Like just writing that first verse and part of a chorus just destroyed part of my brain.
