Some people (I-Guns and Stephy) were talking about the old ranking system and I thought it would be a good idea to bring back a ranking system of sorts. The biggest reason we don't have one now is because I couldn't come up with a good clever system and the amount of posts that should go with it. So, here is the challenge for everyone here:
Come up with a ranking system for the site. Include the number of posts that each rank needs to unlock. I don't have any specifications other than this.
There needs to be a specific usergroup for 0-9 posts because members are also promoted after their 10th post so they are able to create their own threads. This is used to keep spam off of the site.
I am looking for a comprehensive ranking plan. You can come up with rank names, but you can suggest other things like special abilities that you can gain after a certain number of posts.
10 brownie points for the winning plan.

It seems like we've done this so much, but haven't been able to agree. I'm not sure about the special abilities though. I think maybe a 1,000 post club would be the maximum.

Happy Camper 51 - 100
Active Poster 101 - 250
Elite Poster 251 - 500
Valued Contributor 501 - 1000
Board Veteran 1000+
Other than that I guess something including like, Fan, Roadie, Groupie, Stalker..
But I don't think it should have any insulting ranks. I vote against "Noob" as 0-10 and for Veteran to be pretty high up there (I seem to be in the habit of calling you oldies Vets :))
Nothing that screams originality from me I'm afraid, but I've never seen The Quiet Type's rankings on any forum and they're pretty friendly/give off a good impression

If we had the arrows (good idea btw) we should have it starting from now (along side a proper ranking system) just so the people who have shit-tons of posts can enjoy the fun.

I like the arrows. Once you get to 6,000 points you get 6 arrows in the blink logo. Or if that's way too much we change the intervals.
Only because you'd be the only one with it ;)

So the majority seems to like the arrow thing?
My only problem with this (ironic since I fronted it) is that it's not a blink forum. Devils said it a few times. It's a TOM forum (note why we dont have Mark or Travis sections or news).
But it does seem like the best bet so far.

I think we could decide on our favorite, like vote, and the one with the least votes is the first tier.
it's appropriate too, as it's a forum based on Tom Delonge..
so why not use quotes.. we know alot of them, have like 6..do a poll.. lowest voted is for the lowest post count and so on..
