Do you think you could have a reference of 500x200, so it's easy to compare?

Too tall.

To check your signature size (in most browsers), right click the image and select "properties."

Since a lot of people currently have signatures that may be too large, we will allow until October 1st for everyone to make appropriate changes.

Thanks in advance, everyone.

Madie will be changing her sig too :)

By maximum size, we really mean maximum size.

Never understood why people put a max size on width.
Height makes sense but even if you made it 10x250 the rest of the width will still be taken up, just blank/wasted.

Good that we have an official ruling on it now though

The larger the width, the larger the total area of the image. The larger the total area, the larger the file size and subsequently the larger the load time.

The other (and perhaps more important reason) is that extremely wide signatures have the ability to disrupt the formatting of the forum.

Yeah, stupidly wide ones do fuck the layout but I meant the width of a post.
But fair comment about the file size.

Those might be a liability as they would likely cause epileptic seizures.

My brother's epileptic ;)
I'll get him to test if you like?
This (http://i37.tinypic.com/1z6e5vo.gif) may be cause for concern?
NOTE: If you do suffer from photo-sensitive epilepsy I'd advise AGAINST following the aforementioned link.

why should we change? Just because people are too lazy to your their PC/laptop and want to use their phone?

When I use my psp, everything loads fine. Try clearing your cookies to free memory.

This has already been explained multiple times and you're beating a dead horse. It has ZERO to do with loading the page on a phone, PSP, or other devices - sigs are automatically disabled when viewing from any of those. It has to do with the way the site appears on a PC.

Yours is still too large. It needs to be at least 100 pixels shorter.

Noone gives a shit about your laptop.

It really isn't about the load time (although a speedier load time is better), it is about the overall simplicity of the layout.
