Just for fun, I would like to start doing a weekly Photoshop contest in here. I will write up a Photoshop challenge and anyone who wants will be able to make one or more submission and post it in this thread and we will select a winner.

This first contest will be a sort of "re-imagining" of something that already exists. I would like you to submit your version of howyou would have designed the We Don't Need to Whisper album cover.

I will announce a winner and the next contest on 02/26.

Anywhoo - I always imagined a guy whispering that to his girlfriend in an awkward moment.
But with the theme of the album, an awkward moment in space. Like, end of the world awkward.

So my design is a planet (needn't be OURS) exploding, they watch it from their ship and he's holding her.
Everything was 100% created with Paint.net (I don't like Photoshop as much). No stock images used.
It isn't the best of quality but it's what I came up with this morning. You get the idea of it.


Hope this thread carries on, though I probably wont enter Weekly.

This is what I came up with.



The whole thing was made custom with photoshop. Except the len's flare (which is a photoshop effect) and the AVA logo (of course).

Some solid entries here, I regret not working on the outside of my spacescape more..
Might tweak it some if I get bored, try and bring it up to par y'know? ;]

Sergio and Josh are my fave so far but good job to everyone who's tried so far.
Josh, how did you make that planet?! It's amazing. Love that you got the "eye of god" in it too.
Serg, who's the guy in your pic? Excellent effect on the case and it's all so well blended.. Can I see the stocks?

The planet was made from a texture I got online, then added some filters and gradients onto it to blend it in.

Sergios is great.. Amazing.

I like the adventures too. :)
