yeah thats what i'm doing now. I have heard them but will not listen to them again because i don't know how alike they will be when they are officially released - will they be similar or sound completely different? I'm a little concerned i have to say because i just feel these new songs are quite techno and aren't what i was expecting. But that might just be because i haven't heard them as they will be when they are released yet

they are a bit techno (maybe secret crowds as an exception). but they dont really sound right...as in i think effects are missing which suggests these will not be the final album versions.

so i dont think forming an opinion on the whole album from those 4 songs is valid. i havnt made up my mind yet and dont think i will until its released

oh thank god someone feels the same way. I was starting to think i was the only one - i really hope these songs sound a bit different when they are actually released

Grey

they may have been different versions of the songs since they knew people would put them online, so they may be saving the debute final versions for the album.

nahh! You can wait. Be strong

But it's definitly worth listening to, lol

back to the origional question though,
I think AVA did 'stay true' to their sound. Each song has those AVA-like qualities, just are harder and more powerful..you know, so it's like WDNTW but better, lol

U2

Although you have to consider U2's album POP. That had a sound of its own. Alot of people didn't seem to like it becaus eit was too different from their previous work.

mm Dead Kennedys? SClub7? Circa Survive?

Obviously bands change at least a bit from album to album, or else the music would be identical and that wouldn't be good! But every band has that certain 'sound' that carries on throughout every album..you know what I mean? Probably not because I hardly understand what I wrote, ahaa oh well :)

Yeah AVA kept their sound- that best music in the world that makes you feel like you can do anything type of sound. But it's not like some bands where they make new songs and you're like, "Heard it", with AVA it's like "Holy crap! I think I just pissed in my pants I'm so excited to hear this!"

i think on WDNTW he tried to make every song a certian length to make it more Pink Floyd-ish

now i thnk hes trying tto make a very original combination of BCR and Pink Floyd. whcih entials not caring how long the songs are.

i think AVA is still def. unique but they are kind of heading back in the punk rock genre. which will be more friendly to them. it sounds like tom mixed the sounds AMAZINGLY! and it will have more of the blink fans listening to them.
